Ernestina Saxton, M.D. Ph.D., recently retired as Professor of Neurology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where she received a Ph.D. degree in Medical Microbiology and Immunology and later completed her medical training internship and neurology residency. She was awarded the Kaiser Family Foundation Fellowship as one of the 49 outstanding minority graduating medical students in the country. She was also awarded a five year Clinical Investigator Development Award (CIDA) from the National Institue of Neurological Diseases and Stroke of the National Institutes of Health and appointed to the UCLA faculty in the Department of Neurology in 1986. Dr. Saxton is currently the Medical Director of the Memory Disorder and Cerebral Function Clinic at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. She has always enjoyed teaching as well as attending to the inpatient and outpatient service. She continues her teaching and research activities in her new office of the Western CHAM~P Foundation.

Objectives:

  • To be able to identify clinical features and causes of chronic daily headache
  • To evaluate the role of comorbid conditions in the choice of treatment modalities.
