Andrew Leuchter, M.D., is the Daniel X. Freedman Professor and Vice Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, and Director of the Laboratory of Behavioral Pharmacology at the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA. He also serves as Director of Continuing Education for the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Dr. Leuchter is Board Certified in Psychiatry, has added qualifications in Geriatric Psychiatry, and is Board Certified in Electroencephalography. He is the author of numerous articles and chapters on the assessment and treatment of depression, dementia and other major mental illnesses, and is the author of two patents for new methods to examine brain electrical activity.
Objectives:
- To review criteria for the diagnosis of Fibromyalgia
- To report on recent studies in the physiology of Fibromyalgia
- To discuss recent developments in the treatment of pain, fatigue, and other symptoms associated with Fibromyalgia
